Sue's Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 1/2 cup flour sift after measuring
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Filling

  • 1 cup nuts, chopped OR
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Grease tube pan.
  • Beat margarine and add sugar.  Add eggs.  Alternate sour cream and flour.  Add other ingredients.
  • Pour 1/2 of batter into pan.
  • Top with 1/2 of filling.
  • Pour remaining batter into pan and top with remaining filling.
  • Bake at 350o for 40 to 45 minutes.
