Pecan Pie Surprise

Ingredients

pillsbury butter or yellow cake mix
18 1/2 oz

cup
butter or margarine melted

egg
1
cup
chopped pecans
Filling

cup
reserved cake mix
1/2
cup
firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2
cups
dark corn syrup
1
tsp
vanilla
3
eggs
Instructions
Preheat oven 350
o
.
Generously grease bottom and sides of 13x9 inch baking pan.
Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling.
In large mixing bowl, combine remaining dry cake mix, butter and 1 egg. Mix until crumbly, press in prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until light golden brown.
Filling
Meanwhile, in large mixer bowl combine all ingredients. Beat at medium speed 1 - 2 minutes.
Pour filling over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until filling is set.
Cool and cut into bars.
