Pickled Beets
Ingredients
- 1 tbs whole mixed pickling spice
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 2 cans sliced beets
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 medium white onion sliced
Instructions
- Put on an apron or wear old clothes. Watch for beet stains.
- Boil spices (in a spice ball or tea caddy) with vinegar and beet juice for 10 minutes. Add sugar and salt.
- Put beets and onions in jar.
- Pour juice in jar.
- Refrigerate at least 24 hours before serving.
